On our latest trip to La Paz, Mexico, one night, we were bored waiting for other dinner guests. So we opted to explore the malecón (water walkway). Much to our delight, we discovered a trampoline overlooking the water. As Lanee rushed to get on, reliving her childhood memories with the family’s backyard trampoline, Lindsay called after her, “But this is a kids’ playground, this isn’t for adults.” Lanee convinced her that is was for adults too (and of course we filmed it!) and many other adults in respected fields agree.
In fact, trampolines are all the rage in both the art and architecture world.
In October, design firm Atelier Zündel Cristea conceptualized a bridge for the river Seine in Paris made up of three humungous floating trampolines. Unfortunately, this project has yet to be greenlighted.
As the design firm puts it, the bridge is “dedicated to the joyful release from gravity.” (Oui, oui, we’d like more of this idea, especially on our skin!!)
Now, the Estonian architecture studio Salto has built an equally inventive solution to the boredom of the morning commute – a 170 foot (51 m) -long trampoline, so that you can bounce to your destination.
The trampoline, called Fast Track, has been built and installed at arts festival Archstoyanie, and has been a hit since it was opened at the end of November in the Nikola-Lenivets forest, in south-west Russia.
Made of black rubber, it is, according to Salto “an attempt to create [an] intelligent infrastructure that is emotional and corresponds to the local context, giving the user a different experience of moving and perceiving the environment”.
Whether it’s bouncing across the La Seine in Paris, hopping your way through a forest in Russia or just sharing hilarious laughter and fun with a friend while passing time in La Paz, a tromp on a trampoline is always a good idea.
If you don’t have a trampoline to enjoy a “joyful release from gravity” encounter, Jump Sky High trampoline gyms are located throughout the U.S.

Well I must say you have got to love a trampoline – although it is difficult bouncing on a trampoline at the same time as filming!
I really hope that they build the trampoline bridge – amazing idea although the health and safety/logistics may be a little difficult!!
