Today is International Women’s Day, celebrated annually on March 8th, and we’ve got 8 great quotes about women by women. And good news, you don’t need a vagina to celebrate it! Today women and men are celebrating, reflecting on the past victories and failures and planning for the future of women’s rights, freedoms and equality. And of course, we champion women to go out and pursue their dreams everyday here at Voyage Vixens and regularly get involved in women’s movements.
3 Ways to Celebrate International Women’s Day for Women & Men
- It’s a good day to share an opinion on a debate or current event that concerns any aspect of women’s rights, empowerment or equity with co-workers, friends or local paper.
- Engage with your elected officials on policy issues that affect you, from access to health care, to family policies in the workplace, to fair pay.
- Step up and apply for leadership positions within organizations, consider running for office, and support women candidates running for office. FYI, the 2012 election was a record-breaking, glass-ceiling smashing milestone for women being elected to office. The 113th Congress will have at least 20 female senators, the most ever in U.S. history
