When you’ve seen the hot new Broadway show, shopped in Soho and toured MoMA, here’s a new (sugar) high to try when in the Big Apple – the “Cupcake Crawl Across Manhattan” with Sugartooth Tours. New cupcakerys have been popping up all over the city, but who really makes the best cupcake in New York City? You get to be the judge after a six-bakery stop and sample fest.
On the tour, you’ll hop on and off public transport, criss-crossing the city, from the Upper East Side, to the East Village, to Hell’s Kitchen, and beyond in search of New York City’s prize cupcake.
Like the Cosmopolitan cocktail, HBO’s Sex in the City is also responsible for bringing the cupcake craze front and center. After Carrie Bradshaw devoured the tasty treat at Magnolia Bakery, the rest is red velvet history.
Tours start April 17th and run most Wednesday-Sunday afternoons. Thankfully, they’re small groups of 3-16 people, led by licensed NYC tour guides who offer large samples of these delicious cupcakes. And you’ll pick up some cultural and culinary history to boot in between bites.
