Hey good looking, fly this way much? The possibility of joining the Mile High Club just got easier, or at least Sir Richard Branson, owner of all things Virgin, thinks it has. Virgin America announced last week that flirting on Virgin flights is now possible and encouraged by the new “Get Lucky” feature. It allows you to buy drinks and snacks for other passengers via the touch-screen in front of you.
Here’s the lowdown. You spot a cutie, maybe on the way to the bathroom. You order a Screwdriver cocktail, pun or no pun intended and a cheese and cracker snack, because you’re classy like that. Then you include on your Virgin America screen a note, just like you did in school with maybe a bit more sophistication than “Do you like me? Check the box ‘yes’ or ‘no’“.
Something like: “Maybe it’s the high altitude making me a little woozy, but I’d love to see if you’re feeling the ‘high’ too.”
Maybe not that cheesy, but you get the idea.
In a video explaining the new feature of flirting on Virgin flights with other passengers (whether they’re interested or not), Branson says, “I’m not a betting man, but I’d say your chance of deplaning with a plus-one are at least 50 percent.”
Now that sounds like VERY optimistic odds. But hey, if you don’t try, you’ll never know.
Here’s the “Sir Branson’s Guide to Getting Lucky at 35,000 feet” You Tube video for more deets straight from the uber entrepreneur’s mouth:
Is hitting on people in an enclosed space a good or a bad thing? Brilliant or downright bs?
