As we mentioned a few weeks ago, we’re planning a trip to Australia in 2014! As neither of us have ever been and we want to make the most of our time there, we decided to use Findery as our “vision board” of sorts, leaving notes about hotels, adventures and landmarks we want to see in Australia.
Over the past few weeks, we researched and identified places and experiences in Australia that we feel speak to what the Voyage Vixens brand is all about – quirky, cool, hidden gems, unique experiences, a little luxury, and a whole lot of adventure!
At the same time, we are asking for your help and input too, by tagging your Australia recommendations, advice, and feedback on the posts using the hashtag #VoyagetoOz. We’ve posted 40 notes thus far and would love to continue to get your input.
Find our notes here: www.findery.com/voyagevixens.
While we honestly loved and want to do everything we noted, here are a few of our favorite finds:
- A swag sleep on the Great Barrier Reef
- Restricted Access? We Wanna Go
- The world’s highest commercial abseil
- A spa treatment via horses
- Barbecued worms
- Glamping in Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park
- Octopus Wheel of Fortune Cocktail Menu
- The only two horizontal waterfalls on Earth
Remember: tag your Australia suggestions and comments with #VoyagetoOZ. when we venture down under in 2014, we’ll let you know where we end up!
Here’s to #VoyagetoOZ 2014!
Findery App Launches in Australia
Launched in the U.S. by Caterina Fake, co-founder of Flickr, earlier this year, Findery heads down under, with a free mobile IPhone app on ITunes. Open the app and you will find notes covering personal stories, memories, histories and little known facts – a colorful compendium of the places around you. Since Australians are big fans of adventure and travel – it’s the perfect place for Findery to launch.
We’re definitely going to be using this app quite a bit for finding in-the-know local spots as we’re planning a trip to Australia in 2014.
But you’re not in Australia? The app will be available in more markets and on more operating systems in the months ahead. For now, you can continue to leave notes via the website or mobile web.
