Since when did the word “jumpshot” transform into a word that no longer immediately implies a slick move on the basketball court? One word – instagram. We were a little reluctant to hop on the travel jumpshot bandwagon, but now that we have, we have to admit that we kind of dig it! It’s just simple, silly fun. So, go ahead. Jump for joy. Hashtag “travel” and “jumpshot” and indulge in a little social media narcissism. Be sure to tag @VoyageVixens so we can see your shots!

Tips for getting the shot:
1. Set your camera or phone settings to the multiples setting, if you have one. This means that even if it’s a random person you ask to take it, you’ll get three simultaneous shots to choose from.
2. Tell the person who’s taking it to count to three. Don’t jump on three. Wait another second so that the camera will catch you in air. Most cameras, even iPhones, have a slight delay in capturing the image.
3. Use props! We loved what happened when Lanee accidentally lost hold of her scarf in the below jumpshot in Malaysia. The wind and the color made for a more interesting jumpshot, in our humble opinions.
4. Have fun with it. Go nuts. Throw your hands in the air, and wave ’em like you just don’t care….
