Austin City Guide + With Love from Austin, Texas [PHOTOS]

January 10, 2013 By VoyageVixens Leave a Comment

austin-texas-city-guide-voyage-vixensFrom the music scene to hill country, Austin is one of our favorite cities. For that reason alone, an Austin city guide is nearly impossible to be complete, so we’re going to boil it down to the best of the Eats, Plays, and Loves the city has to offer. For us that means food, drinks, adventurous activities, and of course, music. Austin’s culinary scene is growing and the city is quickly becoming an impressive hot spot in the US for foodies.

It’s small enough to still carry a small town feel, but large enough to feel the cosmopolitan culture. It also happens to be one of the most dog-friendly cities in the country with tons of hiking trails and public parks with off-leash privileges for well-behaved pups. As the home to Whole Foods flagship, Austin also has an eco-centric, green-friendly vitality that is in many ways leading the country into a more sustainable mindset. After all, the motto of the city is to support local and “keep Austin weird.” This city guide to dining, drinking, staying, and playing could go on and on, so we’ll keep this to the classic can’t-miss-spots and our personal favorites (in no particular order):

WHO ARE THE VIXENS?

Lanee Lee and Lindsay Taub of Voyage Vixens

Hi! We're Lanee and Lindsay. You may have gotten to this page because you're intrigued by the word "vixens" or maybe you found some of our porn online (#travelporn, that is!). Either way, we are fully aware we are not what you typically think of when you hear the word "vixen", i.e. boobalicious babe wearing skintight minidresses in 6-inch heels. In our book, you don't need DDs to be a VV. To us -- vixens are smart and sassy women (and men, why not?!) who take action, scared sh**less or not, to turn their dreams into realities. Now you know a little about us; we'd like to get to know you. Connect with us on twitter, instagram, google+, pinterest, youtube, Facebook, tumblr, and periscope! (yes, we're on them all...#sorrynotsorry)

Got a Story to Tell?

We want to hear it! We're now accepting guest blog posts. Send us your travel tale—be it hilarious, heartwarming or horrifying— to [email protected]. Promise, you'll hear from us in less than 48 hours.
