File under: try everything once? We went half away around the world to discover one of the last places on the planet you can hitchhike safely. Hitchhiking in Rarotonga, Cook Islands came about in the same manner most of the crazy stuff we do happens: I have an idea. Lindsay shoots it down. I coerce Lindsay to say yes. Lindsay gets us out of trouble.
In this case, it ended well. We did something that was truly ONCE in a lifetime and had one of those travel experiences that only happens when you throw caution to the wind and simply say, “YES!”. We came home with one of the best encounters with locals to date.
