On Pinterest, we have a board called “Voyage Vixen Heroines” dedicated to women we feel embody our motto and passions for Eat, Play, Love experiences around the globe. They are women who are strong, confident, game changers, movers and shakers. The rules don’t apply; they take fear and obstacles head on. They’re the ones men love and women want to be like.
There aren’t many on the board (yet) who are alive today, as we tend to go for the nostalgic references and vintage class. But, this week we’re adding someone current to the list — Andie MacDowell. Here’s why:
A couple of weeks ago, a dear friend of Lindsay’s from Boston was in Peru during International Women’s Day (October 11). The purpose of the trip was to raise awareness for the importance of education as well as access TO education for women.
Model/actress Andie MacDowell participated in the trip as Global Ambassador for the ‘Because I am a Girl‘ campaign, organized by International NGO Plan International, which aims to support millions of girls around the world get the education and skills they need to be successful.
The Voyage Vixens applaud MacDowell and Plan International for raising awareness about the unique challenges girls face worldwide.
