St Patricks Day Fashion: Green Styles

March 16, 2013 By VoyageVixens 2 Comments

st patricks day fashions

Most St Patricks Day fashion is downright tacky. Green beads, shamrock earrings/boppers/glasses, red beards, these are just a few of the less than elegant green garb. Yep, guilty of wearing a “Kiss Me I’m Irish” T-shirt and a neon green fake eyelashes and green bob-cut wig. It’s fun to go that route, but what about redefining St. Patrick’s Day fashions?

Spotted at Harper’s Bazaar.com, here are some green styles from the runway that won’t have you looking like a loony leprechaun:

Fun Facts About St. Patrick’s Day

  • Blue was originally the color associated with the holiday.
  • Green came about in the 17th century, symbolizing the Catholic faith on Ireland’s flag.
  • St. Patrick was not Irish (his birthplace is rumored to be in Scotland or England)!
  • St. Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland for his work during the 5th century.
  • According to Guinness, an estimated 13 MILLION pints of Guinness are consumed around the world on St. Patrick’s Day.

For more green styles, check ModCloth.com’s St Patricks Day fashion collection.

Whatever you wear, whether it’s hilarious or high fashion tomorrow, HAPPY ST. PATRICK’S DAY 2013!  Slainté

PS. Please excuse the missing punctuation in blessed St. Patrick’s name. For all those bloggers out there, SEO got the best of us.

WHO ARE THE VIXENS?

Lanee Lee and Lindsay Taub of Voyage Vixens

Hi! We're Lanee and Lindsay. You may have gotten to this page because you're intrigued by the word "vixens" or maybe you found some of our porn online (#travelporn, that is!). Either way, we are fully aware we are not what you typically think of when you hear the word "vixen", i.e. boobalicious babe wearing skintight minidresses in 6-inch heels. In our book, you don't need DDs to be a VV. To us -- vixens are smart and sassy women (and men, why not?!) who take action, scared sh**less or not, to turn their dreams into realities. Now you know a little about us; we'd like to get to know you. Connect with us on twitter, instagram, google+, pinterest, youtube, Facebook, tumblr, and periscope! (yes, we're on them all...#sorrynotsorry)
