America’s Best Spa Treatments (with Booze!)

June 30, 2014 By VoyageVixens Leave a Comment

Spa-&-Drinks

We love spa treatments and we like to tipple. Now, combine the two? That’s spa-licious indeed. Here are some of America’s best spa treatments that are booze-inspired or cocktail paired:

Blackberry Farm,Walland, Tennessee

Lavender and Vanilla Bourbon Body Drench

This sumptuous full-body massage combines nutrient-rich lavender essential oil with aromatic vanilla bourbon body butter. The butter melts as it is massaged into the skin to deeply nourish, while a heated wrap enhances intense hydration to smooth and soften the body.

Calistoga Ranch, Napa Valley, CA

Ale Immersion Bath

A bath infused with two different types of organic malt: a dry ale yeast and fresh hops. This spa tradition, practiced in Europe for hundreds of years, extracts B Vitamins from brewery yeast and soothes skin and pores, supports joint pain with increased blood circulation, reduces stress and relaxes muscles.

Four Seasons Resort, Vail, Colorado

Scrubs & Cocktail Series

Using fresh herbs sourced directly from the executive chef’s garden, guests will enjoy homemade scrubs and perfectly paired cocktails. This new series of treatments kicks off this summer and each month will feature a new ingredient used to create the scrub & complementary cocktail. Example scrub and drink pairings include: Spearmint Scrub and a Mojito; Chocolate Mint Scrub and Chocolate Mint and Tarragon Smash made with Four Seasons Vail Eagle Rare Bourbon; and Rosemary Scrub and a Rosemary and Heirloom Tomato Tonic with The Botanist Gin.

Calm Waters Spa, Hawks Cay Resort, Florida Keys

Key Lime Mojito Signature Scrub

The treatment begins in the tropical rain room with an Mojito Sugar scrub. As the Vichy shower soothes the senses, stress melts away with a Signature Key Lime infused shampoo and conditioning treatment. The experience concludes with a decadent warm moisture wrap, leaving the skin soft and hydrated. The Key Lime Mojito Signature Scrub uses the resort’s own private label Key Lime products.

Hiatus Spa + Retreat, Austin, Texas

Cocktail & Care Combo

Each month, Hiatus shakes up a new cocktail-paired treatment for the “Monthly Retreat” series. Check out a sample C & C treatment: a cooling toner followed by a soothing herbal emollience of camomile and calendula flower, followed by a wrap with gauze soaked in essences of helichrysum, lemongrass and ylang-ylang and scalp and foot massage. The Vichy’s rain and a dash of Aveda’s Calming Body Composition complete the cure, followed by a sparkling Cava + St. Germaine cocktail.

The Allison Inn & Spa, Newberg, Oregon

Pinotherapy

In the heart of Oregon’s pinot noir wine country, the spa is known for its wine-based spa treatments. Pinotherapy is a pinot-inspired botanical and biological therapy produced by wine and grape seed extracts derived from the on-property vineyard.

Coeur d’Alene Casino & Resort, CDA, Idaho

Cocktail Cures

With a menu you’d more likely find at a beachside cocktail bar rather than a spa, here’s a few of their mixology beauty treatments:

Lemon Drop Pedicure – Using LaLicious Lemon Blossom scrub to exfoliate, it smells so good, so may be tempted to drink it. The pedicure leaves your feet soft and fancy free with creamy lemon butter lotion.

Watermelon Basil Vodkatini – Skin is enveloped in antioxidants with a Sparkling Citrus-Cilantro soak. Next, you are polished to perfections with a fresh Watermelon-Basil Sugar Scrub infused with Square One Organic Vodka. Relax with a juicy, vitamin-rich whipped Shea butter massage swirled with live Strawberry fruit cells.

Champagne Breeze – After a dip in a minty-champagne Shea butter soak, a whipped citrus-infused Shea Sugar Scrub gently polishes you to perfection. Next, a warm, rich honey and papaya fruit serum wrap seals in hydration followed by a Ginger Sorbet scented body milk massage.

Rum Punch – Soak in an antioxidant rich Clementine sparking soak before a Butter Rum brown Sugar Scrub sends you to smooth operator status. Relax as a warm Honey glaze serum is painted on and finish with a shea butter massage with delicious sangria notes of mango, melon, peach and strawberry.

Willow Day Spa, Santa Monica, CA

Bourbon and Barley Hydrating Scrub

A scrub of barley and warm coconut oil with an earthy scent of Bourbon and vanilla will definitely whet your skin’s whistle.  Enjoy the boozy, sweet and aroma of Bourbon without no fear of a hangover as its simply essential oils.

Mirbeau Inn & Spa, Skaneateles, N.Y

Honey & Wine Wrap

The nourishing and fortifying wrap to address chronically dry skin. A warm blend of wine and honey provides intensive moisturizing to the skin, protecting against dehydration. 50 Minute Treatment

JW Marriott, Grand Rapids, MI

Brew n’ Renew Spa Treatments

Since Grand Rapids is officially “Beer City USA”,  JW Marriott Grand Rapids and the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel offer beer-infused “Brew and Renew” spa treatments.  The specials feature a pedicure or body polish & massage with local hops and barley used to exfoliate the skin after a soothing beer soak.

WHO ARE THE VIXENS?

Lanee Lee and Lindsay Taub of Voyage Vixens

Hi! We're Lanee and Lindsay. You may have gotten to this page because you're intrigued by the word "vixens" or maybe you found some of our porn online (#travelporn, that is!). Either way, we are fully aware we are not what you typically think of when you hear the word "vixen", i.e. boobalicious babe wearing skintight minidresses in 6-inch heels. In our book, you don't need DDs to be a VV. To us -- vixens are smart and sassy women (and men, why not?!) who take action, scared sh**less or not, to turn their dreams into realities. Now you know a little about us; we'd like to get to know you. Connect with us on twitter, instagram, google+, pinterest, youtube, Facebook, tumblr, and periscope! (yes, we're on them all...#sorrynotsorry)

Got a Story to Tell?
