Hotel Review: The Brown TLV Urban Hotel

December 10, 2014 By VoyageVixens Leave a Comment

Review by Allison Levine of PleaseThePalate.com. She traveled to Tel Aviv at the tail end of the Gaza-Israel conflict for a bat-mitzvah.

Brown Hotel Rooftop Tel Aviv

After a long flight from Los Angeles to Tel Aviv, my friend and I arrived at midnight and went straight to The Brown TLV Urban Hotel. As we entered the former bank-turn-boutique-hotel, we looked at each other and said, “Did we fly to Israel or New York City?” From the uber-hipster décor to the trendy neighborhood, it was like we were in SoHo.

The eclectic lobby is filled with mid-century inspired furniture and a library of books. The walls were well-appointed with edgy art and photography, like the 1970’s floor-to-ceiling sized Playboy magazine covers.

After a good night’s sleep, we got up the next morning and headed out to take advantage of the hotel’s complimentary breakfast. Here’s the kicker: you get to eat breakfast at one of five nearby cafes. With the list of the restaurants and map in hand, we chose Lulu Kitchen & Bar. Lulu was a charming little restaurant in the heart of the hip Neve Tzedek neighborhood. We sat inside the café and watched the young families and hipsters wander up and down the street as we enjoyed our Sunday brunch.

What I loved about the Brown Hotel is how centrally located it is. Just a few steps from the hotel, we wandered through Neve Tzedek, up Rothschild Boulevard and through the Carmel Market. We also walked a few extra minutes to the beach and then to the old city of Jaffa.

Traveling to Tel Aviv for business or pleasure, The Brown Hotel is urban luxury on an intimate, 30-room scale. P.S. You’ll definitely be part of the cool crowd with a stay here.

The Brown TLV is part of the Leopard collection of boutique hotels throughout Israel. Another Leopard hotels in Tel Aviv is slated to open in 2015: Brown Beach House Tel Aviv (opening February).

WHO ARE THE VIXENS?

Lanee Lee and Lindsay Taub of Voyage Vixens

Hi! We're Lanee and Lindsay. You may have gotten to this page because you're intrigued by the word "vixens" or maybe you found some of our porn online (#travelporn, that is!). Either way, we are fully aware we are not what you typically think of when you hear the word "vixen", i.e. boobalicious babe wearing skintight minidresses in 6-inch heels. In our book, you don't need DDs to be a VV. To us -- vixens are smart and sassy women (and men, why not?!) who take action, scared sh**less or not, to turn their dreams into realities. Now you know a little about us; we'd like to get to know you. Connect with us on twitter, instagram, google+, pinterest, youtube, Facebook, tumblr, and periscope! (yes, we're on them all...#sorrynotsorry)
