With summer around the corner, it’s nearly that time of the year again: ROAD TRIP season! Last year, San Francisco was calling our names (and our stomachs), so we hopped in the car to eat and drink our way through the Bay Area, including stops in Berkeley and Oakland.
On every other visit to the city, we stayed downtown, in heart of the action. This time, we switched it up and stayed just outside the city in the Presidio, America’s oldest military base that operated from 1776-1994.
The Inn at the Presidio—an early 20th century soldier bunker turned swanky boutique hotel—is a dreamy escape from the concrete jungle set on 1,491 acres of national park overlooking the Bay with 24 miles of trails to explore. When we weren’t on the porch swaying in the hotel’s rocking chairs, we were eating…and drinking, hiking, and then eating again.
