When we travel, we like to have an impact. We highlight the good, point out the bad, and give the best possible information for how you too can get out and enjoy an adventure in a new place. But having an impact and making an impact on our environment are two separate things, which is why Lindsay joined a group of Namibians in Montana and Wyoming last week to witness an exchange of information between tourism, conservation, and land development experts who all had “sustainable tourism” on the brain.
What became an inspirational week in some of the country’s most beautiful places was one for the record books. Austin-Lehman Adventures (based in Billings, Mont.) planned an eventful, active week that brought the US and Namibia together, not just as friends in the travel industry but also as family in the global community striving for travel experiences that “leave no trace” physically, but stay in our hearts forever.
Both Lindsay and Lanee are looking forward to visiting Namibia for the first time next year at the Adventure Travel Trade Association’s annual conference.
