We met – where else? – while traveling. We were in the gorgeous province of Alberta, Canada touring through Calgary, Banff, and Lake Louise… We bonded over the natural beauty, our natural inclination toward adventure and adrenaline junkie fun, delicious food, and the best ice wine we’d ever tasted. But it wasn’t until a ride up to a pristine and magical little tea house in Lake Louise on horseback with a GQ cowboy as our guide that we knew we’d be lifelong travel buddies! Since then we’ve had adventures together around the globe and back again…
A year since Visit Wales adventures…
Wow, time flies! Last year at this time, we were off with a group of bloggers from around the world, on a race from Conwy to Cardiff. The group was split into four groups — Lanee was in the culinary group; Lindsay was in the adventure group. From thrilling jumps off cliffs into the Irish […]
Video: Hidden Gem – Murphys, California
A road trip to Murphys, California was quite simply off-the-beaten-path at its finest. There we found amazing adventures (like rappelling down an old mine shaft), gorgeous scenery, fabulous wines, delicious food, and quirky characters who give Murphys its special charm, not to mention a haunted hotel where Mark Twain and Ulysses S. Grant once stayed!
When sustainable tourism is sexy…
When we travel, we like to have an impact. We highlight the good, point out the bad, and give the best possible information for how you too can get out and enjoy an adventure in a new place. But having an impact and making an impact on our environment are two separate things, which is why Lindsay joined a group of Namibians in Montana and Wyoming last week to witness an exchange of information between tourism, conservation, and land development experts who all had “sustainable tourism” on the brain.
Happy New Year Israel!
In honor of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, September 16 – 18, 2012, here is the Voyage Vixens in Israel video:
Conquering the CN Tower’s Edgewalk + Reaction
Toronto’s newest and tallest attraction has adventure lovers taking a walk ON THE EDGE – outside and around the circumference of the CN Tower’s pod! Of course we dared to do it! Here’s Lindsay’s reaction post-Edgewalk!
Video: Urban Adventure in Toronto
Lindsay’s first trip ever on an airplane was when she was six months old to meet her mom’s family in Toronto. Since then she’s visited the city about once a year. But her last trip there was also Lanee’s first. Together, we voyaged like vixens and saw a new side of Toronto — urban adventure! […]
An Amazing Race Challenge in the Saguenay Fjord, Quebec
A week of adventure in the northern Saguenay Fjord region of Quebec proved to be a mentally and physically challenging journey. We raced against other journalists from one end of the fjord to the other, ending up in Tadoussac, near the gorgeous Lac Saint Jean and St. Lawrence River. From kayaking, sailing, and hiking to […]
Video: Extreme Ropes Course at Cap Jaseux, Quebec
Our introduction to the many activities you can do while visiting the Saguenay Fjord in Northern Quebec was a day of adventure at Parc Aventures Cap Jaseux. It was unlike any adventure park we’d seen and is certainly not for the timid, the unfit or the uncoordinated. After doing a very challenging Via Ferrata (basically […]
